Dr. William LaTorre discussed the 6 steps to wellness and demonstrated kinesiology and cold laser on excited attendees, while Fred Astaire instructors wowed with their dancing genius! On Friday, September 24th, the 1Voice Foundation held the Masquerade: “Masque dans le Miroir,” an inaugural event benefiting children battling cancer in the Tampa Bay area. The evening was a night of true chic, freak and mystery mystique as guests eerily mingled in full fledged mask and costume at The Ritz in Ybor City, enjoying food samples from the best restaurants in Tampa Bay, signature cocktails, masked celebrities, silent auctions and even a French Bistro dessert room. The Icon B. team was in proud attendance and would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone that came out and supported such an incredible, creative and beneficial event!

Brooke boogied to Earth Wind & Fire; Chuck “bullied” Jessica; Lisa did a little song and dance; Roy oozed with suaveness; Meredith “thrilled” to the King of Pop and Brian got funky to “The Humpty Dance” and took home the grand prize at this year’s Tampa Bay’s Dancing with the Stars! The event benefited the Kid’s Charity of Tampa Bay, Moffitt Cancer Center and Pepin Heart Hospital and the evening was full of glitz, glamour and dynamic performances! The award-winning instructors at Fred Astaire Tampa Bay were there every step of the way coaching, motivating and encouraging this year’s celebrity dancers on their originally choreographed routines that reflected each of the “stars” personalities.

Working Women of Tampa Bay held its 2010 Mother’s Day Expo on April 29th. The Expo featured local vendors who offered services from candy creations to graphic designing to dance lessons. The inviting scent of Lemon Grass filled the air from RedBamboo’s booth, as they displayed their candles, body lotions and jewelry for all the Mother’s Day shoppers while Roy and his team members styled hair, expertly applied makeup, buffed nails and gave the attendees an overall enjoyable experience! Fred Astaire dance professionals, Lino Hernandez and Beatrice Lopez, entertained attendees and vendors alike as they performed during the Expo and an enter-to-win gave one lucky winner the Gift of Dance for Mother’s Day. Thank you to everyone who participated, contributed and attended this remarkable event!

On Friday, May 7, the Mayor’s Beautification Program hosted SilverSpoons & Sandcastles XIX, one of the highest-profile fundraisers in the Tampa Bay area that supports the restoration and renovation of the Tampa Bay community. Prominent guests were treated to fabulous hors d’ oeuvres, premium bars, a “must see” silent auction, live music by the Johnny G. Lyons Band and engaging performances by Fred Astaire Dance Studios Tampa Bay. Through your sponsorship, ticket sales and auction bids, Mayor’s Beautification Program raised $100,000! Thank you to everyone who came out in support of this event, community and wonderful cause!

On April 27, 2010 Wheels of Success held its 4th Annual R.A.C.E Luncheon at the A La Carte Event Pavilion. Wheels of Success is a nonprofit dedicated to keeping working families on the road, by donating cars and car-related services to individuals in need. The turnout for the event was spectacular as Master of Ceremonies, Jack Harris from 970 WFLA, entertained guests during the luncheon that honored Crew of the Year (AutoWay Dealers), Drivers of the Year (Bobbi Davis and Irene Hill), Community Champion (Nikki Daniels) and the #1 Fan (Grace Armstrong). The event was full of touching and memorable stories from recipients of donated cars and through these stories, awareness was spread to the Tampa community on why this charity has been so remarkable and important to so many individuals. Congratulations to founder Susan Jacobs on another successful year and thank you to Wheels and all its patrons, for “Keeping Working Families Working”!

On April 22, 2010, The Art for Autism Foundation hosted the “Best Bean of the Bay” in the Galleria at USF Connect Tampa. Chefs from all over the bay area met in a head-to-head competition, cooking food and drink recipes featuring cocoa and/or coffee products! Guests had the chance to admire artwork drawn by children with Autism while tasting the best recipes in town and enjoying live jazz performances. Paired up with the extraordinary emcee talents of Tammy Levent from Elite Travel and Brandi Kamenar of Icon B. Marketing & Publicity Group, this charity event both delighted and entertained guests, while supporting a remarkable cause. Thank you to all of the restaurants who participated, and for all the community members who came out to show their support!

The American Cancer Society held its annual Relay For Life South Tampa on April 23rd, 2010 at Plant High School. Individuals and local businesses throughout the community rallied together and formed teams to support survivors, raise money and walk in memory of those who lost the battle against Cancer. This 18-hour camp-out-esque event themed “MargaRELAYville…Finding a Cure in Paradise,” carried on throughout the night and included a moving “Luminaria” Ceremony celebrating those who battled against Cancer and honored and remembered those gone too soon. The evening also featured teams participating in ongoing games, contests and “themed” laps around the field. Icon B. was in proud attendance as the “Iconic For Life” team and joined forces with Fred Astaire Dance Studios Tampa Bay who offered dance lessons for donations to raise money for the American Cancer Society. The event was truly an extraordinary and memorable experience. Congratulations to the entire South Tampa Relay committee that included Judy Gay and Lauren McQueen for their exceptional dedication and to everyone who participated for raising above and beyond the targeted donation goal of $150,000 for the Relay in South Tampa!

BLU Luxury Lifestyle Magazine held a fabulous event at SAKS FIFTH AVENUE, Westshore Plaza on Thursday, April 15th. Guests enjoyed a premium open bar and hand-passed hors d’oeuvres from Ceviche while watching Tampa Bay’s 10 “Leading Men” strut the catwalk for a great cause! The proceeds from the event benefited the 1Voice Foundation, a charity dedicated and determined to help children and their families as they embark on their battle against childhood Cancer. The Icon B. team was in proud attendance and had a stellar time supporting an amazing organization, great job BLU Magazine!

The Fallen Faithful movie premiere took place at the sensationally hip venue, Dolce Vita Lounge, at the Channelside Cinemas 10. As guests mingled under the stars enjoying fabulous finger foods provided by Carabbas and music by Tampa DJ, Tony Faline, the cast and crew were also spotted enjoying the Spring night and talking with film fans about the release. The world premiere helped to also benefit the local organization 1Voice Foundation which provides support and information to families that have a child suffering from cancer. The amazing cause paired up with the killer movie, resulted in one remarkable and memorable event!

Brandi Kamenar, CEO and Creative Director of Icon B. Marketing and Publicity Group joined Fred Astaire Tampa Bay Dance Studios at the Holy Family Catholic School in St Petersburg as the school held its 24th annual “Bootlegger Ball & All That Jazz” event. Not only did Fred’s amazing dancers put on a roaring good show at the 20s themed event, Mary Murphy from the hit TV dance competition “So You Think You Can Dance?” joined the festivities! Relay For Life South Tampa kicked off the 2010 Relay season with their second kickoff event at CHEAP. Excited teams and prospective team members joined together to honor loved ones who have fought cancer.
